Spokesman of the Atiku /Okowa campaign council in Rivers state, Dr. Leloonu Nwibubasa says calls for the resignation of the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, by some aggrieved members of the party came at the wrong time.
“…The timing for that change is not the best for the party right now,” he tells Dayo Elusakin on Nigeria Info’s Hard Facts.
Dr. Nwibubasa was clarifying the council’s earlier statement insisting that it notified the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike of the constitution of the Presidential campaign team.
Governor Wike, while unveiling the Rivers state governorship campaign council said the photos of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu were not included in the state campaign posters because he wasn’t consulted at the point of selecting members for the presidential campaign council.
Dr. Nwibubasa, however, alluded to the call for the emergence of a southerner as the national chairman of the PDP but also highlights the intricacies that make this course unachievable in this video.
