2023 Elections: Voters Withstand Thugs in Ikate, Lagos

Voters at polling units around Oba Elegushi palace in Ikate, Lagos stood their ground against thugs who tried to disrupt the elections Saturday afternoon.

The thugs had attacked polling units 43, 45, and 46 in the area, and destroyed some of the election materials.

Voters said they were intimidated by some persons who reportedly slapped some of them and took their phones.

The voters stood their ground and informed the military who came to the rescue.

The same situation was recorded at Ikota where voters said thugs intimidated them.

They said the military later secured the area before they could vote
