2023: Police Train Anti-Bomb Experts

The Nigerian Police Force has stationed anti-bomb experts at the country’s entry and exit points to prevent the importation of explosive materials.

This is coming as the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, assured Nigerians that the force’s personnel will be sweeping strategic locations to prevent the movement of explosives into public spaces ahead of the 2023 General Election.

The assurance was given in Lagos at the quarterly conference of commanders and heads of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) formations across the country.

There, the IGP, who was represented by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Unit, Zannah Shettima disclosed the conclusion of the training of officers attached to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal – Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit.

The training discussed established protocols for safe explosives disposal and preventive measures ahead of the General Election, according to a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
