Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Thursday presented 23 brand new 2024 GS8 4WD SUVs to judiciary officials in Adamawa State a move the government says is aimed at improving service delivery within the justice sector.

The vehicles were handed over during a brief ceremony at the Government House in Yola. While speaking at the event, Governor Fintiri said the SUVs were procured to “enhance efficiency and performance” in the judiciary and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of judicial officers.

The Adamawa State Chief Judge, Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman, who received the keys on behalf of the judiciary, thanked the governor for what she described as “continued support,” and assured that the judiciary would remain committed to upholding justice without fear or favour.

While the judiciary’s role in maintaining democratic accountability is widely acknowledged, the timing and scale of the SUV distribution are likely to spark public debate, particularly given the economic pressures faced by ordinary citizens and workers in the state.
