The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released an updated timetable for its 2026 primary elections and revised nomination fees following consultations with party stakeholders.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the purchase and submission of nomination forms will run from May 6 to May 13, with screening scheduled for May 14 and May 15.

The ADC said results of the screening will be published on May 17, while appeals will be heard between May 18 and May 19. The final list of cleared aspirants is expected on May 20.

According to the revised schedule, primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats will hold on May 21, followed by governorship primaries on May 22. The presidential primary is slated for May 23.

The process will be concluded with a National Executive Committee meeting on May 25 and a Special National Convention on May 26 for final ratification.

The party also announced new fees for nomination forms, pegging the presidential ticket at 90 million naira, governorship at 30 million naira, Senate at 10 million naira, House of Representatives at 5 million naira, and State House of Assembly at 2 million naira.

It said the concessionary policy remains in place, offering a 50 percent discount for youth aspirants aged 18 to 35, and 25 percent for women and persons with disabilities.

The ADC said the adjustments are aimed at strengthening internal democracy, improving access and ensuring broader participation as it prepares for the 2027 general elections.
