
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed a Chinese national, Li Zhensheng, as Economic Adviser to the state government.
Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed a Chinese national, Mr. Li Zhensheng, as the Economic Adviser to the state government.
The announcement was made at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bauchi State and the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre in Bauchi on Thursday.
Governor Mohammed said the appointment and partnership were part of efforts to position Bauchi as a hub for international cooperation, with projects expected in agriculture, education, healthcare, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, and trade.
Under the deal, Bauchi will establish a representative office in China to coordinate investments and monitor project delivery timelines.
The governor noted that the collaboration aligns with the diplomatic understanding between President Xi Jinping of China and President Bola Tinubu, adding that it would attract foreign direct investment, create jobs, enhance skills, modernise key sectors and raise Bauchi’s global profile.
Zhensheng, who also chairs the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre, pledged to mobilise resources for Bauchi’s economic transformation, promising modern infrastructure, sustainable growth, and improved livelihoods for residents.
