
Former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in a London hospital, will be buried on Tuesday, July 15, in his hometown, Daura.
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, confirmed this at a press briefing on Monday.
Governor Radda said the burial arrangements were finalized after consultations with the late president’s family and close associates in the UK.
According to him, Buhari’s remains are expected to arrive in Katsina by noon on Tuesday, with the funeral slated for 2:00 p.m. in Daura, his ancestral home.
The governor extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the state government and the people of Katsina to the former president’s family and Nigerians across the country.
He described Buhari as a national icon whose legacy will remain significant in Nigeria’s history.
