The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has condemned the abduction of schoolchildren, teachers and school officials during coordinated attacks on schools in Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement signed by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, CAN described the incident as a “national disgrace,” warning that it reflects a dangerous spread of organised criminal violence and a collapse of security across the country.
The association called for urgent action by the Federal Government and security agencies to rescue the victims, dismantle kidnapping networks and strengthen protection for schools and rural communities.
