China says it firmly supports the Nigerian government as it leads its people “on a development path suited to its national conditions.”
Speaking at a press conference in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said China opposes any country using religion or human rights as an excuse to interfere in another nation’s internal affairs.
“As Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly opposes threats of sanctions or the use of force to influence sovereign nations,” Ning said
This is coming after U.S. President, Donald Trump’s reported threat of military action to Nigeria, over alleged persecution of Christians.
