The CWIAK Group has secured 51 nominations at the seventh edition of the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA).
The nominations cover stations across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and Onitsha, with recognition spanning station excellence, station imaging, regional broadcasting, news, current affairs, entertainment and indigenous-language broadcasting.
Nigeria Info received nominations for station excellence in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, as well as individual nominations for current affairs and morning show presentation.
Wazobia FM and Wazobia Max TV also earned nominations across Lagos, Abuja and Onitsha, alongside several indigenous-language broadcasting categories.
Cool FM was nominated for station imaging and regional drive-time presentation, while Arewa Radio received recognition in northern regional categories, including Best Indigenous Radio Station in Kano.
Reacting to the nominations, the Group’s Director of Programmes, Prince Daniel, says the team is excited by the recognition but is not surprised by the outcome.
“We are very excited about this, but to say with all humility, we are not surprised because when you put in the work, result is inevitable,” he said.
Daniel describes the nominated staff as some of the country’s finest broadcast talents and says the CWIAK Group will continue to maintain high standards in broadcasting.
He also thanked listeners and viewers across the country for their continued support and engagement, which he described as a key driver of the group’s success.
