The multi-billion-dollar Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company in Lagos will be inaugurated on 22 May, according to the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries, Anthony Chiejina.
The facility covers a land area of approximately 2,635 hectares and is located in the Lekki Free Zone area.
It is the biggest single-train facility in the world and is expected to refine 650,000 barrels of oil per day.
A single-train refinery uses an integrated distillation unit or one Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) to refine crude oil into various petroleum products.
This is against the use of multiple distillation units by most big refineries.
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to inaugurate the refinery whose completion cost has been pegged at $19 billion.
