Nigerian-born wrestler Isaac Odugbesan, known worldwide as Oba Femi, delivered the biggest moment of his career with a shocking victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

The 28-year-old, who had a breakout year in 2025 and earned lots of fans and admirers along the way for being a proud Nigerian, announced himself to the world after defeating 10-time champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

Femi started as a student-athlete at the University of Lagos, competing in shot put and other field events.

His strength and discipline later earned him opportunities in the United States, where he continued in student athletics before making a bold switch to professional wrestling just as he was on the verge of becoming a professional.

That gamble to switch from dominating the track and field to competing in rings around the world has now paid off in stunning fashion.

At WrestleMania, Femi dominated the match, overpowering the veteran Lesnar and sealing victory with his finishing move, the “Fall From Grace.”

Commentator Michael Cole captured the moment, calling him “the next big thing” as the crowd roared.

Femi had predicted his rise. “I have always been THE ONE,” he said before the match, a statement that now feels prophetic.

The result was one of the biggest shocks of the night.

In an emotional scene, Lesnar removed his gloves and left them in the ring, a gesture widely seen as a possible farewell after a legendary career.

This made the hard-earned victory of Oba Femi all the more impressive, with all evidence pointing to the Nigerian prodigy being the last opponent of a wrestling great like Lesnar.

WrestleMania 42 also featured other major results, including championship defences and surprise appearances, but it was Femi’s breakthrough that stole the spotlight and dominated headlines.

Since joining WWE, Femi has quickly built a reputation as a powerful and fearless competitor, winning titles in the developmental NXT brand and rising through the ranks at record speed.

From the fields of Lagos to the grandest stage in sports entertainment, his story is inspiring a new generation.
