Nollywood star Funke Akindele has set new records with her latest movie, becoming Africa’s highest-grossing filmmaker.
The film has earned ₦2.1 billion, the first West African title to surpass the ₦2 billion mark at the box office.
Akindele is now the continent’s top-grossing director, producer, and writer. Her movie also broke records in the UK and Ireland.
She is the first African filmmaker to hold the #1 box office spot for three consecutive years, solidifying her dominance in the industry.
