Governor Dauda Lawal received a massive welcome during his historic visit to Dansadau town in Maru Local Government Area on December 17, 2025.
According to his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, this was the first gubernatorial visit to Dansadau in over 20 years, since former Governor Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura’s tenure.
Dansadau, the largest ward in Maru, has faced long-term neglect from previous administrations.
Governor Lawal toured surrounding communities including Wanke, Magami, and Dan Gulbi.
He also inspected the ongoing construction of the 108-kilometre Gusau-Dansadau Road, a key infrastructure project initiated by his administration.
The Emir of Dansadau, His Royal Highness Alhaji Garba Mohammed Sarkin Kudu, honored the governor with the traditional title of Garkuwan Dansadau (Protector of Dansadau), recognizing his commitment to local development.
Spokesperson Idris said the visit highlights Governor Lawal’s dedication to grassroots progress and the Zamfara Rescue Mission’s goal of revitalizing neglected communities.
The warm reception reflects growing support for the state government’s development agenda.
