Lagos State Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has urged Nigerians to remain committed to building a better country as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

Hamzat, in a message posted on X, said Nigeria had grown, learned and overcome several challenges over the past 66 years, drawing strength from the resilience and determination of its people.

He said every Nigerian has a role to play in building the country they want, beginning with how citizens treat one another, the values they uphold and their commitment to leaving a better country for the next generation.

Hamzat acknowledged that there was still much work to be done but said he remained confident in what Nigerians could achieve by putting the country first and working together with purpose.

He urged Nigerians to continue believing in the country and contributing to its progress.

“Let us keep believing. Let us keep building. Let us keep moving Nigeria forward,” Hamzat said.

He ended his message by wishing Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary and praying for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
