Iran says it has responded to a new United States proposal aimed at ending the conflict in the Gulf region.
An Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Esmeil Baqaei, said on Monday that diplomatic exchanges with Washington are ongoing despite rising tensions and disagreements over terms.
Baqaei said the latest communication forms part of continued back-and-forth negotiations between both sides, even as Iranian media described some U.S. demands as excessive.
Washington and Tehran have been exchanging proposals in recent weeks in an effort to reach a settlement to the conflict, which was launched by the United States and Israel on February 28.
