JAMB Extends Deadline for Acceptance, Rejection of Old Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has extended the deadline for candidates offered admission from 2021 to date to either accept or reject their admission offers.

The new deadline is Wednesday, September 30, following the earlier deadline of August 31.

JAMB said the extension provides a final opportunity for affected candidates with pending admission offers, including regular and CUIIA admissions, to indicate whether they wish to accept or reject the offers.

Candidates who accept their offers will be able to proceed to print and obtain their admission letters, while those who reject them will have their dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted.”

The board also advised candidates who are no longer in the institution where the previous admission was offered, or who are currently enrolled in a different programme, to accept the outstanding admission and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion.

JAMB clarified that candidates offered admission in the 2026 admission exercise who still have previous admission offers pending should not be worried.

They can reject the earlier offers without any adverse effect on their 2026 admission.

The board warned that there will be no further extension after September 30. All outstanding admission offers from 2021 to date that have neither been accepted nor rejected by then will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” status.

JAMB therefore urged all affected candidates to take action immediately, warning that failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period will render the offer invalid.
