The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has ordered an immediate restructuring of the security architecture on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

This follows complaints from travelers and a subsequent briefing of the situation on the highway from the Commissioners of Police in charge of Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo States.

A statement from the Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi pointed out that the police chief promised to deploy “technology-based and tactical operational assets” for the Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo Police Commands.

Assets would also be provided to the heads of tactical operational units in the area to combat crime on the expressway.

The Inspector-General of Police, however, called on road users, hunters, and community leaders to expose known criminals who terrorize people along the road and in adjoining communities.
