Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has expressed solidarity with U.S. President Donald Trump following a shooting incident in Washington that reportedly put the American leader at risk.
In a statement from the Lebanese presidency, Aoun said he sent a cable to Trump congratulating him on his survival after the incident, which occurred during an event in the U.S. capital.
Aoun condemned acts of violence, describing the incident as a threat to security and stability, and reaffirmed Lebanon’s opposition to violence in all its forms.
He also conveyed his wishes for continued safety and security in the United States.
