Manchester City have officially completed the signing of Ghana international Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a deal valued at £64 million.

The 26-year-old forward has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, keeping him with the Premier League champions until the summer of 2031.

The move represents another major statement from Pep Guardiola’s side and pushes City’s total transfer spending over the past 12 months to an estimated £425.9 million, underlining an aggressive squad rebuild.

City beat off strong competition from Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham to secure Semenyo’s signature.

Although the forward had a £65 million release clause, both clubs agreed on a structured deal worth £62.5 million in guaranteed fees, payable in instalments over two years, with a further £1.5 million in performance-related add-ons.

Bournemouth have also retained a 10 per cent sell-on clause, while Semenyo’s former club, Bristol City, are set to receive around £10 million as part of a 20 per cent share of the profit.

Semenyo departs Bournemouth after a memorable final week at the Vitality Stadium.

On Wednesday night, he scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner in a 3–2 victory over Tottenham, sealing a perfect farewell before travelling north for his medical the following day.

Since joining the Cherries from Bristol City for £10 million in 2023, his rise has been rapid, with 10 goals in 20 Premier League appearances this season establishing him as one of the division’s most dangerous and versatile attackers.

The Ghanaian forward becomes City’s 14th signing in the last year, during a period of unprecedented turnover under Guardiola.

Speaking after completing the move, Semenyo said he was proud to join the reigning champions, describing the opportunity to work under Guardiola as a dream and expressing his eagerness to get started alongside world-class teammates.
