Renowned broadcast journalist Maryann Okon has been honoured with the Media Person of the Year (Radio) award at the 5th Frontier Discourse Annual Public Lecture and Awards, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to journalism and public discourse.
The award was presented at a high-profile event organised by Pacesetter Frontier Magazine, which brought together leaders from government, media, civil society, business, and academia to examine national issues and celebrate excellence across sectors.
Maryann Okon, a senior broadcaster with Nigeria Info, was recognised for her impactful journalism, incisive interviews, and sustained commitment to holding power to account through radio.
Over the years, she has built a reputation for hard-hitting analysis, agenda-setting conversations, and advocacy-driven reporting on governance, social justice, public policy, and human-interest issues.
Known for anchoring influential programmes such as Hard Facts, Okon has consistently used her platform to amplify under-reported stories, interrogate public policy decisions, and engage decision-makers on issues affecting everyday Nigerians.
