Gombe United Football Club drew goalless with visiting Remo Stars of Ikenne on Tuesday to remain at the bottom of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table.

The hosts were hoping for a victory to move away from the bottom spot but couldn’t get past the visitors, who were resolute in picking some points.

The Match Day 28 fixture played at the Pantami Township Stadium saw Gombe United looking to build upon their Saturday success when they won the state Federation Cup by defeating city rivals Doma United.

A disappointed coach, Alhaji Kwairanga, left the pitch when the referee blew the final whistle.

The visiting Remo Stars’ coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, was also disappointed with the match outcome.

“It was a woeful result for us,” he said.

We came here for the maximum three points and, unfortunately, we couldn’t get them.

“We are not happy with the result. Getting a draw in Gombe is like getting nothing.
