Presidential aspirant Peter Obi says he has been cleared after a presidential screening conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abuja, where his credentials and documents were thoroughly reviewed.
In a post on his X handle, Obi said the exercise lasted over two and a half hours and covered his academic certificates, NYSC records and age declarations, adding that he also answered questions on his vision for Nigeria and leadership priorities.
"During the process, I also addressed questions regarding my vision for a new Nigeria and the type of leadership our nation urgently needs right now," Obi wrote.
"Following this, I was cleared and received the presidential nomination form I had previously paid for."
He commended the screening committee led by former governor Sam Egwu, as well as the party leadership, for what he described as a thorough and professional process before he was issued his presidential nomination form.
The NDC had earlier announced that Obi is the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, having been declared unopposed during its screening process.
