This meeting follows President Tinubu's recent commitment to combating crude oil theft in the country. In line with this promise, he has previously met with other influential figures from the region, including Chief Timi Alaibe, the former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and Dr. Dakuku Peterside, the former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

During a recent gathering with the country's security chiefs, President Tinubu emphasized his zero-tolerance stance towards oil theft.

He specifically highlighted the nation's challenges in the maritime domain and expressed his commitment to addressing the issue of oil theft.

The President's directives emphasized the need for coordinated efforts in combating various security concerns, including terrorism, insurgency, banditry, oil theft, sea robbery, piracy, and other threats to national peace.

President Tinubu's engagement with key stakeholders and opinion leaders, such as Asari Dokubo, reflects his proactive approach to addressing critical issues affecting the Niger Delta region and the nation as a whole.
