Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev to win the 2026 men’s singles title at Wimbledon, securing back-to-back championships at the All England Club.

The world number one was pushed early by Zverev but showed resilience to turn the match around, recovering from a slow start to seal a 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory in a high-quality four-set final.

Zverev made the brighter start, edging a tightly contested opening set in a tiebreak to take early control of the match. Sinner, however, responded immediately in the second set, holding his nerve in another tiebreak to level proceedings and shift momentum in his favour.

From there, Sinner raised his level, dictating rallies with controlled aggression from the baseline. He claimed the third set 6-3 and carried that momentum into the fourth, where he secured a decisive break before closing out the match 6-4 to seal the title.

The victory highlights Sinner’s growing dominance on grass and reinforces his status as the world’s top-ranked player. It also marks his second consecutive Wimbledon title and his fifth Grand Slam title overall, further underlining his consistency at the highest level of the sport.

Sinner’s triumph also sees him reach a milestone of 100 career match wins at Grand Slam tournaments, a testament to his consistency and performance on the biggest stages.

Zverev, the world number three, showed quality in phases and will take positives from his run to the final, but was unable to sustain the level required to stop Sinner once the momentum shifted.

Earlier in the tournament, Sinner produced a commanding performance to defeat Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the semi-finals, while Zverev reached the final after overcoming Arthur Fery.

The result follows the women’s singles final, where Linda Noskova defeated Karolina Muchova in an all-Czech showdown to claim her maiden Grand Slam title.

Sinner’s triumph caps another successful Wimbledon campaign and further strengthens his position as one of the leading figures in men’s tennis.
