The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the appeal filed by the Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the main faction of the party in Kano State, loyal to Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The appeal had to do with the congresses of the APC in the state.

In a unanimous decision, the apex court declared that the appeal filed by the Shekarau faction lacked merit and cannot stand based on the established legal authority.

In February, the Court of Appeal dismissed the judgement of a lower court that upheld the parallel congresses of the APC conducted by the Sen. Shakarau faction known as the  G-7.

Friday's Supreme Court verdict has however put to rest all the APC's leadership tussle in the state.
