The Supreme Court of Nigeria has nullified the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025, which produced the Tanimu Turaki-led factional national executives.
The convention, which had long been disputed in court, was conducted despite earlier orders restraining the party from going ahead with the exercise.
A Federal High Court had stopped the convention, citing violations of party rules and due process, while the Court of Appeal later upheld that decision.
Dissatisfied with the rulings, the Turaki-led faction approached the Supreme Court to validate the convention, but the apex court upheld the earlier judgments, effectively voiding the exercise and putting an end to the leadership dispute arising from it.
