President Bola Tinubu has blamed opposition leaders for Nigeria’s hunger and poverty, accusing them of creating the problems his administration is now working to address.
Tinubu made the remarks on Saturday during the flag-off of his 2027 presidential campaign at Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna, where he urged residents to renew his mandate, citing investments in infrastructure and economic development.
The President also inaugurated an 81-kilometre section of the Abuja-Kaduna highway through a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Vice-President Kashim Shettima called on Nigerians to support the administration for continuity, citing Tinubu’s commitment to national unity, economic development and democratic stability.
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani commended the President for supporting state governments in implementing development programmes, particularly in infrastructure, agriculture and citizens’ welfare.
Sani also warned APC supporters against misinformation during the election campaign, particularly misleading social media content allegedly generated using artificial intelligence.
