Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted a large consignment of motorcycle spare parts allegedly destined for Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Yobe State.

The suspects were arrested Tuesday at Gumsa Bridge in Geidam Local Government Area following intelligence on the movement of supplies believed to be intended for terrorist elements operating around the Yunusari-Mobbar axis.

The military said troops of the 159 Battalion under Sector 2, working with other security personnel, intercepted the consignment during a patrol.

Recovered items included motorcycle tyres, crankshafts, oil seals, traffic indicators, acceleration and clutch cables, bearings, brake components, gaskets, piston kits, chains and sprockets, speedometers, clutch plates, rocker arms, CDI units, coils, rectifiers and other motorcycle parts.

The troops also recovered 145 pairs of footwear and two Tecno Android phones.

The suspects and recovered items have been handed over to the 27 Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation.

The military said the operation was aimed at disrupting terrorist logistics networks and denying insurgents access to supplies needed to sustain their activities.

It urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support counterterrorism operations across the Northeast.
