The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) says at least 77 children have been killed or injured in Lebanon during the past week amid continued hostilities involving Israeli military operations.

The agency's latest figures were released as Lebanese health authorities reported new casualties from strikes in southern parts of the country.

Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said attacks in the Tyre district killed several people in separate incidents, including a rescue worker and a Syrian national, while others were wounded.

The ministry reported that from March 2 to May 29, at least 3,355 people had been killed and more than 10,000 injured in attacks across Lebanon.

Despite an existing ceasefire arrangement, Lebanese authorities say strikes have continued to hit villages and towns in the country's south.

UNICEF renewed calls for the protection of children and civilians, warning that ongoing violence continues to place vulnerable populations at risk.
