World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz defeated World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in a tense US Open final on Sunday, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 to reclaim the men’s singles crown. The contest swung back and forth as Alcaraz’s explosive baseline play met Sinner’s resilience, before the Spaniard pulled away in the fourth set. The victory delivered Alcaraz his second US Open title, his sixth Grand Slam overall, and returned him to the top of the ATP rankings.

‎Earlier on Saturday, World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka successfully defended her US Open crown with a straight-sets victory over World No. 4 Amanda Anisimova, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3), becoming the first woman since Serena Williams in 2014 to win back-to-back titles in New York.

‎The men’s final start was delayed by about 30 minutes due to enhanced security linked to the attendance of U.S. President Donald Trump, leading to long entry queues and mixed reactions from fans. Tennis legend Martina Navratilova described the disruption as “insane,” saying it unsettled the players and punished supporters who had waited through rain and security checks.
