A United States crew member whose fighter jet was shot down over Iran has been rescued by American forces.
President Donald Trump disclosed this in a post on Truth Social early Sunday, describing the mission as one of the most daring search and rescue operations in US history.
He says the officer, a senior colonel, is safe and receiving treatment after sustaining injuries.
The rescue follows Friday’s incident involving an F-15E Strike Eagle that was downed in the region.
Another crew member was earlier rescued shortly after the crash and is currently receiving medical attention.
