Over time the debate about eloquence as an indicator of good leadership capacity has made top conversations for many Nigerians.
While some believe an eloquent individual equals a great leader, others feel it is not a major factor in determining how an individual will perform if given a leadership position.
Sharing his thoughts on the subject, Spokesperson of the Civil Liberties Organisations CLO, Sunny Dada says a candidate's ability to speak eloquently does not translate to good governance.
Dada who was a guest on Nigeria Info’s Hard Facts said vision is what drives one's performance.
“What we have seen over time is candidates hiring consultants to prepare manifestos for them,” he said.
This is as campaigns for the 2023 general elections kicked off yesterday, September 28th, 2022.
Speaking further, Dada added that Nigerians should look at a candidate’s trajectory in order to access the type of governance they will get.
