The Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) in Rivers State, Minaibi Dagogo-Jack, says the church will take a more decisive role ahead of the 2027 general elections to ensure righteous leadership in the country.

Dagogo-Jack made the comment on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, noting that righteousness is key to good governance, hence the church’s determination to support candidates who embody moral integrity to represent the people in the upcoming elections.

He defined righteous leadership as having leaders with sound moral values and clear thinking, rather than typical politicians. According to Dagogo-Jack, such leadership would help alleviate the economic difficulties facing Nigerians and ensure that the interests of church members are properly represented.

“When righteousness rules, the people rejoice,” he said, quoting scripture.

The PFN chairman expressed concern over the current political climate in Rivers State and warned that the church will no longer accept the status quo.

Speaking further, Dagogo-Jack revealed that PFN will actively guide its members’ political choices in the forthcoming elections.

Outlining the church’s strategy to establish righteous leadership nationwide, the Rivers PFN Chairman stated that PFN would leverage the church’s voting strength, adding that the church constitutes over sixty million of the nation's voting population.

“If we get half of our membership, we shall change the scenario,” he said.

He further added that the church will intensify united prayer efforts and encourage active participation in the electoral process across Nigeria to achieve this goal.
