The Chairman, Emohua Local Government Area, Dr Chidi Lloyd says the local government is being invaded by Fulani herdsmen.
Dr Lloyd disclosed this on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, saying an intelligence report he received last night indicates that Fulani herdsmen are responsible for kidnappings in the area.
He warned that those perpetrating crime in the local government will be made to face the law.
This follows reports of increased kidnappings and violence in some communities in the local government.
Dr Lloyd also accused security agents posted to the state of encouraging illegal oil refining in the area despite the state government's efforts to bring an end to the menace that had left the environment defaced.
He added that security personnel of Rivers origin should be made to serve in the state in order to curb illegal oil refining in the state.
