The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has clarified that its officials do not stop vehicles on the road to search phones, in a bid to catch ‘Yahoo’ boys.
Spokesperson of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, said this on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire with Ifiemi Andrew, while talking about monitoring of funds used during elections and its fight against cybercrime.
He said: “We don’t do stop and search as a commission.”
Mr Uwujaren also described how EFCC raids are done, saying Nigerians should understand that "cybercrime is a peculiar type of crime”.
