National Union of Rivers State Students’ President, Precious Monmon, has suggested that Rivers State University enable students to pay their fees in installments instead of the ‘No school fees, no exams’ policy.

He made this suggestion on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire with Ifiemi Andrew. He said provisions should be made for students who are finding it challenging to make full payment of their fees, to pay in installments because of the economic reality in the country.

“Could there be a way whereby the students could pay by installments? There should be a provision for that,” he suggested.

The NURSS president also decried the failure of the Rivers State government to pay student bursaries and provide scholarships, grants and loans, and its inability to look into the general welfare of Rivers State students.

“The last bursary enjoyed by Rivers State students was paid by the last administration,” he revealed.
