The People Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State has denied allegations that its members hijacked the voting process in some polling units in the state during the just concluded 2023 Presidential election.
In an interview on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Sydney Gbara said the PDP frowns against all forms of electoral malpractices and violence.
“The new system now does not even allow that, you cannot cart away with election materials, there has to be voting” He added, referencing the Electoral Act 2022.
Mr Gbara also said the accusations are wrong information peddled by opposition parties to malign the image of the PDP as the party’s agents were educated pre- election on the guidelines of the electoral Act.
