Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Joe Johnson, has expressed concern that the Rivers State House of Assembly criticised the recent appointments made by the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to his cabinet.

This concern arises as political tension in the state continues to deepen.

In the most recent development, the State Assembly accused the governor of not conforming to the law in the recent appointments of individuals to head various commissions and agencies.

While speaking on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, Mr. Johnson pointed out what he perceived as a double standard among the lawmakers, emphasising that there is nothing abnormal about appointing government officials into acting capacity.

The Commissioner urged the lawmakers to embrace peace for the progress of the state.
