The First Deputy National President, Association of Senior Staff of Banks Insurance and Financial Institutions, ASSBIFI, Nike Joseph has dismissed speculations that banks might embark on a strike following attacks on its facilities in some parts of the country.
Joseph said this in an interview on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire with Ifiemi Andrew.
Some banks have been attacked by angry customers in some parts of the country over scarcity of the naira notes.
The ASSBIFFI First Deputy National President clarified that the association in a press release only advised its members whose banks were attacked to stay clear, calling on those in volatile areas to be vigilant.
“We never asked any bank to go on strike,” she said.
