The Media and Communications Officer, YIAGA Africa, Moshood Isah says there was a significant improvement in the conduct of Saturday’s governorship and state houses of assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC compared to the February 25, Presidential elections.

Isah said these improvements were seen in the functionality of the BVAs, logistics, and timeliness of INEC officials at polling units.

In an interview on Nigeria Info’s Morning Crossfire, Isah also said data gathered from its ‘election result analysis dashboard’ as well as its election observers' show results were uploaded to the IREV portal as stated in the Electoral Act 2022.

“In every state, up to sixty percent of results were uploaded in the portal”. He added, corroborating his earlier position.

This is as more Nigerians continue to assess INEC’s performance at the March 18, governorship elections across the country.

Meanwhile, the Rivers South-East Senatorial candidate of the Labour Party, Douglas Fabeke says the electoral process was mismanaged and there was no improvement from previous elections.

Fabeke who cited voter intimidation in parts of the state accused INEC of disenfranchising voters in Ward 16, Luuwa community, Khana local government area in Rivers state.

“What INEC has done is Zero” he stressed.

So we ask; what is your assessment of the governorship and house of assembly elections?
