The Nigerian Air Force says it has destroyed several terrorist structures and logistics hubs in the Mandara Mountains of Borno State during a recent air operation.

In a statement, the Air Force said the strikes were carried out on 27th April under Operation Hadin Kai, following “credible intelligence and confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions.”

According to the statement signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation targeted a known terrorist enclave at Guduf, a location within the mountainous border region between Nigeria and Cameroon.

The Air Force said its aircraft “identified multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs actively supporting insurgent activities” before launching a coordinated strike.

It added that the targets were hit with precision, leading to the destruction of key infrastructure used by the insurgents.

“The operation significantly degraded the operational capability of the terrorists and reinforced ongoing efforts to deny them freedom of action,” Ejodame said.

The military also stressed that the mission followed strict operational guidelines.

It said the strikes were carried out “in line with established rules of engagement,” with attention to protecting civilians and the environment.

The Mandara Mountains area has long been used by insurgents as a hideout due to its difficult terrain and proximity to international borders.

The latest operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military to weaken terrorist groups operating in the North-East.

The Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on insurgents, saying it will continue to support ground troops and broader operations aimed at restoring peace and security in the region.
