A magistrate court in Sagamu, Ogun State, on Tuesday, granted bail to the driver involved in a December crash that killed two members of Anthony Joshua’s team and injured the boxer, court and police sources said.

Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, who the police say was driving the Lexus SUV, was admitted to bail in the sum of ₦5 million with two sureties.

He faces four counts, including dangerous driving causing death, reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care and driving without a valid Nigerian driver’s licence.

The charges stem from a crash on 29th December 2025, on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Makun, which authorities say saw the vehicle hit a parked truck.

Two of Joshua’s close associates — strength and conditioning coach Sina Ghami and trainer Latif “Latz” Ayodele — died at the scene.

Joshua sustained minor injuries and was later discharged from hospital.

Prosecutors asked for the adjournment so files could be duplicated and sent to the Attorney-General’s office for advice from the Department of Public Prosecution.

Defence counsel opposed the delay, saying they were ready to proceed because witnesses were present.

The court adjourned the case until 25th February 2026, for continuation.
