The Nigerian Medical Association, Delta State branch, has debunked claims by relationship influencer Blessing Okoro (aka Blessing CEO) that she is battling breast cancer, stating that the histology report circulating online was not issued to her.
In a letter dated April 1, 2026, the association said its attention was drawn to a report allegedly issued to Blessing Okoro by Xinus Medical Diagnostics and signed by a consultant pathologist.
However, the NMA said the proprietor of the facility clarified that no such report was issued in the influencer’s name.
According to the letter, Xinus Medical Diagnostics is based in Asaba, Delta State, and did not at any time issue a histology report to Blessing Okoro.
The association explained that the test in question was conducted in May 2025 for a different patient identified as Mbara Deborah, following a request from a doctor at a private hospital in Asaba.
It added that the result, which confirmed a case of breast cancer, was issued on May 9, 2025, to the referring doctor for that patient.
The NMA further stated that the document currently circulating online is the same original result belonging to the said patient, and not Blessing Okoro, noting that it had been shared by a law firm with the patient’s name clearly indicated.
The association raised concerns that an altered version of the report was being paraded publicly, urging Nigerians to be guided.
It stressed that the clarification became necessary due to the use of the document and warned that such actions could mislead members of the public.
The NMA also called on relevant authorities to take necessary steps to prevent unsuspecting individuals from being taken advantage of, while emphasising the need to protect the integrity of medical practice and its practitioners.
