The General Officer Commanding of 81 Division Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Adebayo Babalola, has visited key military formations in Lagos to strengthen cooperation and improve operations.

The visits took place Wednesday at the Bonny Cantonment.

Babalola met with leaders at the Nigerian Army Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (NAEME), the Naval Doctrine Command (NAVDOC) and the Directorate of Automated Data Processing (DADP).

According to a statement by the Army, the visits were part of the GOC’s “ongoing strategic engagements” within the division’s area of responsibility.

At NAEME headquarters, Babalola was received by Maj. Gen. Adeyinka Adereti, who congratulated him on his appointment as the 26th GOC of 81 Division.

Adereti expressed confidence in his leadership and assured him of the corps’ “unwavering support and institutional cooperation.”

Babalola described the visit as “both symbolic and strategic,” saying effective command depends on “unity of purpose, professional cooperation, and shared dedication to mission success.”

He commended the engineers’ corps for its “critical role in sustaining the operational effectiveness of the Nigerian Army.”

During his visit to NAVDOC, Babalola met with Rear Adm. B.K. Effiong.

Both officers stressed the importance of “sustained inter-service collaboration and jointness” in improving operations.

At DADP, Brig. Gen. V.E. Cletus showed the GOC key facilities and explained the directorate’s role in strengthening “command, control, communications, and information systems.”

The visits ended with group photographs, symbolising “unity, shared responsibility, and collective resolve” to improve operational excellence within the division.
