The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results of underage candidates for viewing but warned that the results do not automatically qualify them for admission.
JAMB said an underage candidate is anyone who will be below 16 years old as of 30th September 2026.
The board said the results were released mainly so candidates and their parents or guardians could know how they performed.
“To check the underage result, candidates are to send RESULT to 55019 or 66019” using the same phone number used to register for the UTME, JAMB said.
However, the board stressed that the results “cannot be used for admission or any other official purpose,” except by candidates who meet its requirements for exceptional admission.
JAMB said only exceptionally performing underage candidates would be considered for admission.
One of the requirements is a minimum UTME score of 320 and at least 80% in relevant Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination subjects, where applicable.
Such candidates must also meet their chosen institutions’ Post-UTME requirements and pass a final assessment by experts.
“The admission process for exceptionally performing underage candidates is ongoing,” JAMB said, adding that all assessment and verification stages have not been completed.
The board said it would wait for the National Examinations Council results before completing the process because some candidates are still awaiting their results.
JAMB warned parents and candidates against people who claim they can secure admission outside the official process.
“Participation in the UTME and the release of a candidate’s result do not, in themselves, guarantee admission,” it said.
