The Nigerian Air Force said Monday it carried out a “precision Air Interdiction (AI) mission” on Dec. 14 at Dabar Masara in the Southern Tumbuns, destroying a suspected terrorist logistics hub.

The Air Component of Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI led the operation after “credible intelligence indicating the presence of a terrorist workshop and sustained movement of armed elements,” the NAF said in a statement signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.

According to the service, earlier surveillance and reconnaissance missions had shown “repeated terrorist movement within the area” and a “significant concentration of vehicles concealed under vegetation,” identifying the site as an active logistics location. On the day of the strike, further surveillance “validated the earlier findings,” the statement added.

Following positive identification, the NAF said targets were engaged “in strict adherence to the Rules of Engagement.” A post-operation battle damage assessment found that the identified vehicles “were destroyed and terrorist elements were neutralised,” the statement said.

The Air Force described the mission as part of ongoing efforts to “disrupt terrorist activities and logistics” and stressed its use of coordinated intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance alongside strike operations. The statement said the operation “underscores the NAF’s continued commitment to intelligence-driven, precise air operations in support of national efforts to degrade terrorist networks and enhance security across affected regions.”

Air Commodore Ejodame signed the release as Director of Public Relations and Information at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force.
