Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has seen his proposed move to Tanzanian club Simba SC collapse after both parties failed to agree on personal terms.

The deal, which had been in advanced stages, broke down at the final hurdle over financial disagreements, according to multiple reports.

According to reports, the Tanzanian club was unwilling to meet the goalkeeper’s demands, which they considered to be on the high side.

“Simba wanted to sign him because he is a good goalkeeper,” an anonymous source told sports reporters.

“But the demands from his side were too exorbitant, and they have moved on.”

Nwabali, 29, has been without a club since leaving Chippa United earlier this year, and the move to East Africa was expected to offer him a fresh start.

Reports indicate that Simba had long-standing interest in the Nigerian international and had even attempted to sign him earlier in January before talks resumed recently.

However, negotiations again stalled over salary and contract terms.

“They really wanted to sign him in January, but it did not happen, and they have moved on from him,” another anonymous source close to the goalkeeper said.

The collapse of the deal is a setback for the goalkeeper, who rose to prominence during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he delivered strong performances for Nigeria.

Despite the failed transfer, interest in Nwabali remains high, with clubs in South Africa, North Africa, and Europe reportedly monitoring his situation.

For now, the Nigerian shot-stopper remains a free agent as he considers his next move ahead of the new season.
