The Super Falcons of Nigeria beat Cameroon 3–1 in the second game of their pre-WAFCON friendlies in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Tuesday.
Cameroon scored first after just seven minutes, but Nigeria responded well and turned the match around.
Chinwendu Ihezuo equalised in the 32nd minute when she headed home a strong cross from Rinsola Babajide.
Before halftime, Babajide scored the second goal after being in the right place at the right time.
In the second half, Michelle Alozie sealed the win with a smart finish in the 64th minute.
The match was the second of a two-game friendly series organised to help both teams prepare for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) starting later this month.
The Super Falcons lost the first match 1–0, but the team showed strength and teamwork in the second game.
Before these friendlies, Nigeria’s goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie said the Falcons are calm and confident ahead of WAFCON.
“We are not under any pressure at all,” she said, adding that the team is “focused, and that’s all.”
The WAFCON tournament will take place in Morocco from 17th March to 3rd April 2026, and the top four teams will qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup next year.
Nigeria is the defending champion and will aim to build on this win as it prepares for the big competition.
