Two Nigerian women, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Mo Abudu, have been listed among Forbes’ 100 World’s Most Powerful Women for 2025.
The list, released Wednesday on Forbes’ website, highlights women who hold significant influence in global business, politics, culture and leadership.
It also underscores the growing impact of Nigerian women in international trade and media.
Okonjo-Iweala, ranked No. 92, is the director-general of the World Trade Organization.
She is the first woman and the first African to lead the WTO.
Abudu, ranked No. 98, is a media entrepreneur and philanthropist who has built a global footprint through film, television and cultural projects.
Other women on the list include European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at No. 1.
European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde at No. 2.
Japan’s first female prime minister, Sanae Takaichi, at No. 3.
Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum at No. 5.
Namibia’s Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah at No. 79.
